Improper ferroelectricity in hexagonal tungsten bronzes

Ferroelectrics are an important class of materials in modern electronics. Their application range from simple capacitors to ultrasonics transducers and sensors to memory devices. New ferroelectric materials and understanding the structural mechanisms of ferroelectricity in these, are a key step in their exploitation for future devices.The aim of this experiments is to understand the recent "improper" ferroelectricity exhibited by a family of tungsten bronze oxides compounds.
