Cruise GLICE was conducted on RV Sanna in Disko Bay in August 2022. Throughout the cruise, a towfish was towed alongside the vessel at approximately 1-2 m depth allowing a clean supply of seawater to be pumped into the wet lab. Discrete samples were collected from this underway flow at regular intervals using a laminar flow hood to maintain trace metal clean conditions. Additionally, a separate underway supply was passed through a sensor box to provide underway salinity, temperature, chlorophyll and turbidity measurements (YSI EXO1). Trace metal samples were filtered and acidified at sea, then returned to GEOMAR for analysis after offline preconcentration using a seaFAST system. Nutrient samples were filtered and frozen at sea, then returned to GEOMAR via analysis via an autoanalyzer.
