This 2021 survey of 14,384 adults examined cultural values, practices, and perceptions among national representative samples in nine European countries. The survey yielded robust, comparative data on how how social, economic, and cultural contexts shape access to and engagement with culture. Specialised survey agencies were responsible for administering the survey using a combination of methods (CATI, PAPI, CAWI and F2F). Data was collected by the INVENT consortium, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant No. 870691).
