The University of Helsinki's National Plant Phenotyping Infrastructure (NaPPI) was employed to evaluate the varying effects of Microalgae BioStimulant on tomato growth.
Plant growth was assessed by estimating digital biomass DgB = sqrt[(SVA)^2×TVA], where SVA is the average area of all side views, and TVA is top view area.
To assess flowering, RGB channel values were extracted and clustered into two color hues: green [85;104;64] and yellow [136;119;24], using a k-means clustering algorithm. A plant was annotated as flowering when the proportion of yellowish pixels exceeded 0.01% in any of the side view images.
