The data are from IODP Sites U1385 and U1386 collected in 2011 in southwestern Iberian margin as part of the Expedition 339 retrived by the Joides Resolution. The primary objective was to document paleoclimatic and paleoceanic changes in the subtropical Eastern North Atlantic over the Quaternary. We present pollen raw data from the samples analyzed between 79-92 crmcd, and 120-125 crmcd for 339-U1385, 293-392 mcd and 419-449 mcd for 339-U1386. At site 339-U1385, most of the pollen analysis was performed at 4 cm resolution, while for 339-U1386, the resolution is 10-30 cm. 926 samples were analyzed for pollen grains and spores. Sample preparation followed standard palynological protocols using HCl and HF. The final residues were mounted unstained in bidistilled glycerin, a mobile mounting medium that allows rotation of pollen grains and spores. Pollen and spores were identified using a Zeiss Axio Imager A10 light microscope at 400X and 1000x magnifications. In most of the samples, a minimum of 100 pollen grains, excluding Pinus, and 20 pollen morphotypes were counted.
