Mycoplankton metacommunities of coastal habitats in a subarctic zone (northern Baltic Sea, Sweden)

Fungi are one of the most understudied microbial groups in aquatic environments. Our knowledge on their assembly, distributions and ecological roles in marine ecosystems are severely limited. Hence, we aimed to investigate fungal (mycoplankton) metacommunities of coastal habitats in a subarctic zone (northern Baltic Sea, Sweden). To do so, we applied long-read metabarcoding approach, using Nanopore sequencing platform.
