Interfacial adsorption of keratin as characterised by neutron reflection

DOI

This proposal constitutes part of our ongoing study towards understanding the adsorption of keratins and their interactions with ionic surfactants at the solid/water interface. Both SDS and C12TAB will be used as model surfactants and their deuterated versions will help enhance interfacial structural resolution from neutron reflection. Keratins are important components of hair and skin. This work represents the first attempt of neutron reflection work to start the process of understanding keratin behaviour.
