The heel mark photos in this catalogue can be used to identify the mark (brand) of a Gouda clay pipe find. While heel mark drawings depicted in most heel mark books are of course helpful, photographs of real heel marks with their variations, wear and damage improve the ability to recognize the mark on the find.
