Carol Pottasch is interviewed about her background and training as a conservator and her long career in the conservation field. Pottasch’s introduction to the field and training is discussed, and notable colleagues and mentors are mentioned, such as Anne van Grevenstein-Kruse and J.R.J van Asperen de Boer. The interview also contains thoughts on the development of different philosophies and approaches in the conservation field. Previous conservation projects from Pottasch’s career are also discussed.

Interview conducted in the context of the course Oral History and Artwork Life Stories at the University of Amsterdam, an elective as part of the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage programme.
