This qualitative dataset, part of the ‘Democracy in Action’ Horizon Europe project, aims to serve as a building block in examining the democratic potential of nightlife and nighttime cultural spaces across Europe. It aims to catalogue how cultural venues articulate, perform, and mediate democratic values, relations, and practices through their public communication, with a particular focus on social media discourse for sharing affective states and formulating political expressions to create spaces for inclusivity and belonging, despite its many challenges and limitations.
