This dataset contains the data collected for the Histories of Reception of Photography in the Ottoman Empire project, undertaken as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action project at the Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas (IFIKK) at the University of Oslo (UiO) from 01.09.2022 until 31.08.2024. The dataset consists of the books and articles on photography written in Western Armenian and in Ottoman Turkish in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Researchers have unrestricted access to all online libraries from which the data were collected. However, during the data collection phase of this project, Ataturk University's online library revised its access policies. As a result, obtaining files now requires an individual subscription. Although files remain freely accessible upon registration, I have decided to only include the reference pages from these publications, along with instructions on how to access the full data.
