Estimated bottom water environmental variables from the Equatorial and Southeastern Pacific

DOI

This dataset contains estimated bottom-water environmental conditions for sampling locations distributed along the Southeastern Pacific Ocean between 1° and 50°S. The variables include temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, phosphate, nitrate, nitrite, and silicate. Values were compiled from multiple oceanographic campaigns conducted between 1997 and 2008 and subsequently spatially interpolated to derive bottom-water values for each sampling location. Bottom-water estimates for each sampling location were extracted using a Python script. The dataset was generated to characterize near-bottom environmental conditions at locations where sediment cores were collected and to support ecological and biogeographical analyses of benthic communities in the region.
