Nico van der Woude is interviewed about his work as a conservator-restorer of historic interiors and an architectural finishes researcher. In the first half he discusses his education and training, his work in various interior projects in the Netherlands, conservation education in the Netherlands, and the peculiarities of working as an interiors conservator. In the second half he discusses the interview's setting, Kasteel Amerongen, including his work there as curator, conservation interventions, and the history of the house.

Interview conducted in the context of the course Oral History and Artwork Life Stories at the University at Amsterdam, an elective as part of the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage training programme.
