Studies of stable stratification effect on dynamic and thermal roughness lengths of urban-type canopy using large-eddy simulation

DOI

Archive contains some results of large-eddy simulations (LES) of the neutrally and stably stratified turbulent flows over urban-type surfaces. The configurations of simulations domain and the description of numerical model are presented in (Glazunov et al., 2021) https://doi.org/10.14529/jsfi210409, where the similar setup was used for neutrally stratified flows. The nondimensional profiles of the wind velocity and the non dimensional air-surface temperature difference as dependent on stability parameter h/L and non dimensional height z/h are included, where L is Obukhov length, h is the height of "buildings" and z is the distance from the ground surface. The profiles of dimensionless volumetric drag coefficient are also included. The detailed description of LES model can be found in (Glazunov et al., 2016) https://doi.org/10.5194/gmd-9-2925-2016 and the supplementary materials there in.
