Determining the spin gap in TiPO4

We propose to determine the spin gap in TiPO4, to do this we will carry out a zero-field temperature scan from 5 to 150 K and anticipate focusing our measurements on the region just below 74 K where current evidence suggests the commensurate dimerization begins. To gain a better understanding of the zero-field depolarizationwe will also carry out a brief longitudinal field scan at base temperature. A powder sample is alreadyavailable in sufficient quantity for this measurement. We request two days of beamtime on EMu.
