DNA damage-induced transcriptome changes in budding yeasts Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Candida glabrata

This study compared the transcriptional response to DNA damage in two closely related yeasts, S. cerevisiae and C. glabrata. Overall design: We cultured S. cerevisiae and C. glabrata in YPD containing 0.1% methyl methanesulfonate (MMS) for 1 hour, harvested the cells, isolated total RNA using the Qiagen Rneasy kit, and sent the RNA to Genewiz for RNAseq. Untreated cells were used as controls. 3 biological replicates for every condition were collected, except the S. cerevisiae no MMS condition, which had 2 biological replicates.
