Morphometric traits of birds on Kilimanjaro

DOI

This dataset includes morphological trait measurements of all bird species recorded on the study sites of Mt. Kilimanjaro. We measured traits related to the size of birds, as well as their foraging strategies. For instance, the size and shape of a bird's bill determine the type of resources a species may successfully exploit. The data was collected on museum specimens of 4 individuals for each species. Data on body mass was additionally compiled from literature.

The data on Bird Morphology was collected from museum speciemens. Several measurers created a large database from specimens in several museums in Europe.
