These data were used to reconstruct the evolutionary history of European whitefish populations in Britain. Using the seven native British populations and four more from continental Europe, we estimate genetic diversity and population structure, reconstruct their demographic history, and investigate which main evolutionary force, selection or genetic drift, is driving the divergence between British populations.
