Shishi Database provides an overview of Early Modern Japanese History integrated with data on the biographies and works of twenty prominent Kanshi poets (Japanese authors of Classical Chinese poetry). Key events in the history of politics, literature and art have been selected based on relevant anthologies and works of general history (see bibliography below). Entries are given in German and Japanese (an English translation is planned). Entries can be expanded to show further explanation (mostly in German), citations of digital resources and bibliographies of relevant literature. The spreadsheets containing chronological and biographical data as well as the bibliography are free to download.
