The CostSaver DNA protocol underwent rigorous testing across a diverse range of seven sample types, encompassing bovine ruminal fluids, cow and mice feces, mice skin, swine waste digester sludge, and oil field-produced water. Our extensive findings unequivocally demonstrate that the CostSaver DNA protocol delivers good-quality DNA and achieves a remarkable cost-to-benefit ratio. This breakthrough method proves to be a practical and efficient solution for obtaining high-quality DNA from a wide array of samples, establishing its credibility as a viable option for researchers seeking reliable and affordable metagenomic analysis.
