The dataset provides an overview of sites in south-eastern Norway where identifiable remains of buildings associated with agrarian settlements, dated to c. 2350 BC–AD 1536, have been excavated. The sites were investigated between 1917 and 2023. The dataset has been compiled in connection with the preparation for the publication “Hus og gård gjennom fire tusen år: Faglig program for undersøkelser av bosetnings- og landbruksspor fra senneolitikum til middelalder ved Kulturhistorisk museum”, Cappelen Damm Akademisk, 2026.

The dataset contains information about site location, including farm name; farm number; municipality; county; region; site ID (Askeladden); coordinates (EUREF89-32); permanent link to the excavation report; first year of excavation of the house remains; number of houses; and represented date ranges.
