Structure of microbial communities in the Indio-Pacific Warm Pool

The Indo-Pacific Warm Pool (IPWP) plays a pivotal role in global climate regulation and is integral to marine nutrient and carbon cycling. However, the mechanisms by which the IPWP impacts oceanic organic carbon sequestration, particularly via microbial communities, are not fully elucidated. This study investigates microbial communities in the Eastern Indian Ocean (EIO) and Western Pacific Ocean (WPO) using next-generation sequencing.
