EviDENce. How Eyewitesses report on war and violence

EviDENce - Egodocuments Event Modelling - is een digital humanities project waarin werd gewerkt met gepubliceerde egodocumenten uit de DBNL (1559-2012) en met transcripten van de open access interviews met getuigen van WO2, gecreëerd tussen 2017 en 2010. Inhoudelijk ging het om de vraag hoe ooggetuigen rapporteerden over oorlog en geweld, en hoe dat veranderde in de loop der tijd. Methodologisch is gewerkt aan een nieuwe manier om digitale tekstcollecties te doorzoeken: zonder zoekwoorden, maar op basis van machine learning en Doc2Vec. Bij het project waren de Open Universiteit, het Netherlands eScience Center en het KNAW Humanities Cluster betrokken. Clariah was subsidiegever.
