Physical oceanography during TALUDE cruises of RV ATLANTICO SUL (2009-2024)

This dataset contains temperature, salinity, potential density, fluorescence, and dissolved oxygen measurements collected from 2009 to 2024 in the slope and outer continental shelf along the South Brazil Bight (SBB) and Southern Brazilian Shelf (SBS), between 22 to 34 of south latitude. During this period, a total of 13 cruises were carried out as part of the TALUDE project, which aims to understand the variables and oceanographic processes that determine the distribution pattern of the marine megafauna in the study region. The goal of the TALUDE is to identify areas of concentration for these species to establish critical areas for the conservation of these species and contribute to programs for managing human activities and conserving marine biodiversity. Salinity and temperature were measured using CTD (conductivity, temperature, and depth), and fluorescence and dissolved oxygen were obtained using auxiliary sensors installed in the CTD.
