The present project contains the documentation carried out using microscopic computed tomography of three bone specimens originating from the sites of Gran Dolina and Galería (Sierra de Atapuerca, Burgos) and Roc de les Orenetes (Girona), all located in Spain. This documentation consists of the complete scanning of the specimens in order to study the interaction between the bone surface and the surrounding sedimentary matrix, thereby allowing for an assessment of how this interaction influences the cleaning process of the specimens. Furthermore, this documentation enables further study of the specimens, as histological slides were prepared for analysis following the scanning process — a procedure that involves the partial destruction of the specimens. The current models were produced using a GE Phoenix V/TOME/SX scanner located at the Plateforme Aquitaine de Caractérisation des Matériaux (PLACAMAT) laboratory at the Université de Bordeaux.
