A 3D-model corpus of northern norwegian cruciform brooches from the migration period

A corpus of 3D-scanned cruciform brooches from northern Norway, excluding regions south of Rana. The dataset includes 123 high-resolution (0.1 mm) meshed 3D scans where some objects consist of multiple models because of fragmentation. The data set also includes two relief brooches, 8 small migration period brooches and some objects found together with relief brooches at the key site Skogøya in Nordland municipality (bucket shaped pottery, bird pins and a knife). Both meta- and paradata for the objects are documented in the enclosed table (Model_list.csv).The cruciform brooches are among the most numerous and important prestige artifact categories from the migration period in Norway. This dataset includes all the northernmost brooches within the district of The Arctic University Museum of Norway.
