In 2015, the HSNDB sent out surveys to multiple data centers to document their databases on historical persons. The surveys were an upgrade and extension of an earlier effort in 2009, available at https://hdl.handle.net/10622/VUJHAG.
The goal was to start a European Historical Population Samples Network (EHPS-Net). EHPS-Net ran from 2011 to 2019 and brought together scholars to create a common format for databases containing non-aggregated information on persons, families and households.
The results from the 2015 survey were shown on the EHPS-Net website, which was archived in December 2024. This database contains the original questionnaires, as well as screenshots from the EHPS-Net website to get an impression of the intended functionality.
