Subarctic rivers and brackish plume, 16S and 18S amplicons sequencing

The objective of this project was to evaluate the microbial community structure, diversity and environmental drivers of the Great Whale River, including some of its tributaries (Coats, Denys and Kwakwatanikapistikw rivers), its plume into Hudson Bay, and the nearby Sasapimakwananistikw River. Size-fractionated microbial community composition (0.22-3 and 3-30 micrometres) was determined by high throughput sequencing of the V4 region of 16S and 18S rRNA and rRNA genes.
