Capture and isolation of radicals by green tea antioxidants

DOI

Molecular modelling suggests that the antioxidant molecule EGCG "folds up" around the radical it captures, and therefore should shield the spin density from the environment. This experiment aims to demonstrate this by looking for the relaxation of the radical due to other magnetic species in solution, which should be lower than for ordinary rigid radical molecules or free muonium.
