How do modifiers affect performance in iron Fischer-Tropsch catalysts?

DOI

The applicants have recently completed a series of INS studies on a model iron Fischer-Tropsch catalyst. Given the recent huge invigoration of F-T catalysis due to future global energy supply issues, this realisation represents a unique opportunity to establish the usefulness of INS as a valuable catalyst characterisation procedure. That work is currently being prepared for publication. This particular proposal seeks to examine how and why small quantities of copper added to standard Fe F-T catalysts improve catalytic performance. As such, this represents an extension from the workplan associated with RB1110294, which concentrates on Mn-modified Fe catalysts.
