Oirschot-Barcelona Oirschot – Barcelona Proefsleuven met doorstart naar een Definitief Onderzoek

Op 2, 3 en 5 september 2019 heeft VUhbs archeologie een inventariserend veldonderzoek in de vorm van een proefsleuvenonderzoek (IVO-P) met gedeeltelijke doorstart naar een opgraving uitgevoerd in Oirschot aan de Barcelona. Het onderzoeksgebied ligt in Oirschot en wordt begrensd door Barcelona, de Heistraat en de achterzijde van de bebouwing aan de Koestraat. Het project is uitgevoerd in opdracht van Gemeente Oirschot. Aanleiding voor het onderzoek vormde de voorgenomen ontwikkeling van een nieuw woningbouwgebied, waarbij 47 woningen worden gerealiseerd. Dit gebeurt in een viertal woonblokken, waarbij in totaal een oppervlakte van ca. 1.870 m wordt vergraven. De woningen worden hierbij gefundeerd op palen.
