Copy of: Non destructive characterization of inclusion and microstructure of two stuettes and a fibula excavated iin a Roman settlement

DOI

these mesurements are aimed to identify the metallurgical characteristics of 2 small brass statuettes and one fibula, excavated in a roman settlement. The compostiion and microstrcture of the alloy have been determined by XRF and SEM-EDS,allowig to hypothize that the obiects cannot be dated to pre-roman or roman period. The experiment is addressed to define, by comparison with some modern brasses produced by a foundry, the attribution of the objects to a specific period (second part of XIX century or daytimes). The amount of inclusions and impurities gives specfic indication on the technology of cast brass production.
