Flora - Zat valley

Because the diversity and species richness is so great for such vast and heterogeneous area, we only attempt to present highlights of what we have considered the most "interesting", representative types of habitats within the Geopark. We hade never attempted to carry out the sort of surveys necessary for a comprehensive floristic study of the Geopark with our four relatively short expeditions (that seasonally only represent a mere ca. 15% fraction of the entire year, i.e, months of April-May and June). Nonetheless, a careful selection of localities (alas incomplete, given time limitations) prospected across four years (from 2015 to 2018), consisting of ca. 18 surveying itineraries that sampled ca. 55 localities, has provided us with a basic representation of habitats and plant communities that allows us to understand the rudiments of the Zat Geopark plant diversity
