In order to explore past vegetation and hydroclimatic changes in the eastern region of northeastern Brazil over the late Pleistocene, we present a record of n-hentriacontane, a compound representative of main vegetation in the eastern region of northeastern Brazil: Caatinga and Atlantic Forest. A combination of several depths has been performed in order to obtain enough organic content to measure molecular δ13C. Based on this proxy, periods of expansion /reduction of Caatinga and Atlantic Forest were discussed.
