Mesopotamian cylinder seals: description and photographs of five seals from the NINO collection

The initial purpose of the research project was to investigate the possibilities of digitization, image processing and interactive visualization techniques for creating an online catalog for small cylinder seals.The cylinder seals that we used reside in the collection of the NINO and have been acquired in the 1930s by Prof. Dr. De Liagre Böhl in Iraq. The digitization of five seals resulted in one hundred photos around each seal (3.6 degrees rotation) and a single photo of the impression of each seal.These photographs could be reused when developing (testing) other techniques and compare them with our results.
