Oss - De Geer (2000-2003)

Het gebied met het toponiem de Geer is gelegen tussen Oss en Berghem, ten oosten van de provinciale weg Oss - Macharen. De aanleg van het industrieterrein betekent een zekere vernietiging van alle mogelijk aanwezige archeologische sporen in het gebied. Het bestemmingsplan biedt daarnaast geen ruimte (meer) voor bescherming van eventuele archeologische waarden.

Voorafgaande aan de bouwwerkzaamheden is, in opdracht van de ROB en de gemeente Oss, een aanvullende archeologische inventarisatie (AAI) en een aanvullend archeologisch onderzoek (AAO) uitgevoerd. Aansluitend worden op twee locaties opgravingen uitgevoerd. Het in de jaren 90 aangelegde industrieterrein De Geer wordt in de komende jaren uitgebreid in oostelijke en zuidelijke richting (De Geer-Oost en de Geer-Zuid) over een totale oppervlakte van 29 ha.
