Marine aggregates are included in a larger "aggregate extraction" sector in the French classification of economic activities. Key figures are therefore estimated, based on (1) extraction and employment data mainly sourced from the industry, (2) on INSEE's business statistics related to the larger aggregate extraction sector. International figures are limited to extracted volume and tonnage and are sourced from ICES, the only international organisation collecting data at international level.
