The data set contains original and revised data of sediment cores from site PS1535 in the central Fram Strait, obtained during cruise ARK-IV/3 in 1987. It represents a composite set of climate proxy data from box core PS1535-5, kastenlot core PS1535-8 and piston core PS1535, covering the 317,150 years before present. Contained are a revised (new) age model, stable isotope data of planktic and benthic foraminifera, grain size and geochemical data from bulk sediment analyses, and results from microfossil countings and paleomagnetic data. The planktic stable isotope data set was published by Spielhagen et al. (2004) and has been amended by previously unpublished data. The benthic stable isotope data set was shown by Köhler and Spielhagen (1990) but not published in digital form. The coarse fraction content and planktic foraminifer abundance data were published by Spielhagen et al. (2004). Ice-rafted debris (500-1000 µm), calcium carbonate, total organic carbon and sulphur content data have not been published before. Abundance data of benthic foraminifers Pullenia bulloides and Bulimina aculeata have not been published before. The paleomagnetic and coccolith abundance data sets were published by Nowaczyk and Baumann (1992). The data set of results from radiocarbon datings of planktic foraminifers was published by Nørgaard-Pedersen et al. (2003) and has been amended by unpublished data. The adjustment of kastenlot core and piston core was recalculated with regard to Spielhagen et al. (2004). The age model of Spielhagen et al. (2004) was revised and recalculated using the Bayesian R package BACON v. 3.2.
