Op 20 september 2021 heeft RAAP in opdracht van de gemeente Sittard -Geleen de aanleg van een regenwaterbuffer archeologisch begeleid conform protocol opgraven. De 300 m2 grote regenwaterbuffer is aangelegd in het noorden van de Sittardse woonwijk Vrangendael en ligt op een grasveld direct ten zuiden van de Broeksittarderweg en ten oosten van de weg Vrangendael.Het voornaamste doel van het onderzoek was het veiligstellen van de wetenschappelijke informatie (behoud ex situ).
