The PushBackLash surveys were conducted in Austria, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, and the United Kingdom. The surveys were designed to measure attitudes toward gender equality, feminism, as well as threat perceptions, perspective-taking, and willingness to become politically involved. They include items on support for gender equality policies, solidarity with feminist movements, and views of anti-gender narratives. The surveys also assess democratic attitudes, trust in political institutions, political interest and participation, and broader social and cultural orientations. A dedicated module examines the intersectional impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on work arrangements, caregiving responsibilities, household dynamics, and well-being. Fieldwork was conducted online by YouGov. Data collection took place between March and June 2025, with sample sizes ranging from 1,020 to 2,048 respondents per country.
