Seafood industry includes fisheries, aquaculture, trade and processing activities. Each of these is characterized by key figures (turnover, value added, employment and exports). In addition, fisheries are described (1) by the amounts of landings and sales per product and French region (using trade data from FranceAgriMer state agency), and per EU country; (2) by a breakdown of the fleet per vessel length segment; aquaculture and processing are described by production tonnage and value per type of product, per region and per main EU producing country. Data are principally sourced from government administrations, INSEE and Eurostat.
