This dataset provides point-count data for skeletal and non-skeletal sediment components identified in five grain-size fractions (>2 mm, 2–1 mm, 1–0.5 mm, 0.5–0.25 mm, and 0.25–0.125 mm) for 51 inter-reef seafloor surface sediment samples from the Spermonde Archipelago, SW Sulawesi, Indonesia. Raw counts (#) are reported for 18 component categories, including coral, red algae (Rhodophyta), Halimeda, benthic foraminifera, planktonic foraminifera, gastropods, bivalves, echinoderms, bryozoans, serpulids, balanids, scaphopods, sponge needles, ostracods, siliciclasts, siderite, authigenic carbonate, and indeterminate bioclasts. These data form the basis for carbonate facies classification and document the relative contributions of photozoan and heterozoan skeletal components across the cross-shelf environmental gradient. The field sampling was performed in August 2021 in the framework of the HAnsea project, sample depths range from 4.5 to 73.6 m water depth. Data collection was done between June 2023 and April 2024.
