De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe zij oproeide in Indië. Voor school ging zij naar Nederland. Begin jaren 50 gaat zij vanuit Nederland met haar man mee naar Indië. Ze kwam op verschillende plekken te wonen. De geïnterviewde gaat in op de werkzaamheden van haar man voor Schell en gaat in op de politieke situatie in Indië in de jaren '50.
