The Research "Transformation of identities in current and historical context of Slovakia with regard to the integration processes", was carried out under the state program for young scientists for science and research "Development of personality and talent of Young Workers and PhD research to 35 years", the sub-program "Implementation of outstanding projects to support the professional development of young workers and PhD research and development. " The project coordinator was J. Marušiak from the Institute of Political Sciences, the deputy was M. Ferencová, Participating institutes were the Institute of Ethnology and History Institute. As the output of the research was in a 2005 Anthology called "Theoretical approaches to identity and their practical applications." The main topics of research and outputs were the post-communist Slovakia identity, assimilation of minorities in Slovakia, shaping the historical identity of the Slovaks and the language issue. Anthology is a significant contribution to the advancement of knowledge about the formation of identities of people and ethnic groups in Central and Eastern Europe, respectively, Central Asia and it may contribute to a dialogue between the ethnic groups.
