De oorsprong van dit pand ligt waarschijnlijk in de zestiende eeuw. In de negentiende- en twintigste eeuw waren een dames-instituut, een ambachtsschool en technische school in het complex gehuisvest. Sinds 2000 zijn op de verdiepingen appartementen aanwezig. De begane grond was in gebruik als winkelruimte, maar staat thans leeg.
