The aim of this proposal is to investigate in the methodology of Deep Inelastic Neutron Scattering (DINS) data analysis, with especial emphasis in the absolute normalisation of the observed signals. To this end, we propose to investigate standard samples of different macroscopic scattering power, with the goal to describe the "filter-in" and "filter-out" spectra individually. We will focus our attention on the analysis of samples containing light nuclei, that proved to be specially difficult to analyse. The proposed samples are very well known materials whose cross sections were previously determined in a wide range of neutron energies. We will employ polyethylene, light water, heavy water and graphite samples of different sizes. In the analysis we will make resource of the multiple scattering and attenuation correction methods previously developed by the proposers.
