An insight into the genome of Mycobacterium marinum, isolated from humans and fish

Mycobacteriosis caused by Mycobacterium marinum is a chronic bacterial infection that may cause a disease in both humans and fish. In this study we isolated and molecularly characterized M. marinum isolates collected from human clinical cases and from farmed fish in Israel. We compared our isolates to other M. marinum isolates available in GeneBank trying to find epidemiological relationships between different isolates.
