Concentrations, hydrogen (δ2H) and carbon isotopes (δ13C) of highly branched isoprenoids (HBIs) from sediment trap samples from Brown's Lake in Ohio. Measurements also included concentrations, carbon isotopes (δ13C), percent carbon and C/N of the sediment trap samples. Samples were collected from July 2020 to October 2022 at monthly intervals. Column chromatography was used to isolate the HBIs. An Agilent 7890A gas chromatograph (GC) coupled with an Agilent 5975C quadrupole mass selective detector (MSD) was used to identify and quantify HBIs. A Thermo Trace GC Ultra coupled to an Isolink pyrolysis reactor and interfaced to a Thermo Electron Delta V Advantage IRMS was used for compound specific carbon and hydrogen isotopes of HBIs. Secchi disk depth and pH were also measured monthly at the time of each sediment trap sampling.
