Changes in microbial community structure and carbon cycling due to anthropogenic sediment resuspension

Marine sediments comprise one of the largest microbial habitats and organic carbon sinks on the planet. However, it is currently unclear how disturbance by a wide range of physical anthropogenic processes (e.g. bottom trawling) impact microorganisms and sediment organic matter (OM) cycling.
