Dataset for: Human factor influences on supervisory control of remotely operated and autonomous vessels

DOI

Experimental results investigating the effects of five independent factors on supervisory control of autonomous maritime vessels from a land-based control center. This database includes raw data from a simulator experiment with 32 trials. Each trial represents a participant's performance after completion of two different simulated scenarios. The participant was tasked with remotely supervising autonomous ferries and taking preventative actions, if needed. Participants were recruited from two groups: expert maritime navigators and video game players. Data can be used to measure performance and reaction time. The five independent factors investigated where: (A) Skillset (B) Monitoring Time (C) Number of Vessels (D) Available Time and (E) Decision Support System.
